Blank Layer
1.
Click the create a new layer button. Creates a
new layer with the default name layer# (where the numbers are sequential,
starting with 1).

Choose the Layer > new > Layer command
from the program menu or New Layer from the Layers Palette menu. Creates a new
layer with the default name Layer # (where the numbers are sequential, starting
with 1).
